\ri-'zil-yən(t)s\
noun

  1. the power or ability to return to the original form, position, etc., after being bent, compressed, or stretched; elasticity.

  2. ability to recover readily from illness, depression, adversity, or the like; buoyancy.

Resiliency is the ability of people and places to withstand impacts of natural or man-made disasters and recover quickly. Smart choices that relate to how we grow our food, where and how we build our homes, how our financial system works, what we teach in schools and more will help us become more resilient. It is the ability to  adapt successfully in the face of threats or disaster. It is the capability to anticipate risk, limit its impact, and recover rapidly by adapting to change. GlobalASR has actively participated and support the US Green Building Council: Building Resilience LA.    We have participated and supported several resiliency workshops with various stake holders in the Los Angeles region. GlobalASR was part of the team that updated the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP)of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).
